The new Viking Ship and the Midgard Serpent (31132) is inspired by one of LEGO’s lesser-known themes –sets from the 2005 Vikings theme. Roughly 17 years later, the set is being reimagined.

As this is a Creator 3-in-1 set, it features a Viking ship, a Viking House (complete with livestock and a miniature dragon), and a "Fenris Wolf" that can be built with the same set of bricks.

The set pays homage to some of the most famous monsters in Norse mythology.

Jörmungandr and Fenrir

Jörmungandr, also called the World Serpent and the Midgard Serpent, is a sea serpent in Norse mythology. It is the child of the god of mischief Loki and the giantess Angrboða. The serpent is also the brother of the great wolf Fenrir and Hel, the queen of the dead.

Fenrir is one of the most famous wolves in Norse mythology. It was a sort of "enfant terrible" in the nine worlds of Nordic mythology. The wolf was difficult to control and created chaos wherever it ventured.

Viking Ship to launch in June

The Viking Ship alone consists of up to 1,192 pieces. It assembles a highly detailed longship, showcasing a bright red and white sail with multicolored shields on the sides.

It seems like LEGO is bringing back several old themes through the LEGO Creator 3-in-1 framework, especially since it launched the Pirate Ship (31109) and Medieval Castle (31120) within this umbrella.

The Creator 3-in-1 Viking Ship will launch on June 1, 2022. It will retail for USD 119.99.
